The World's End

The makers of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz have brought out a new film called, The World's End

When the other two films came out, everyone raved about them, but I just didn't understand why they liked them so much. Yes they were good, but they weren't amazing. After seeing the trailer for The World's End, I wasn't too keen on seeing it but decided to watch it anyway. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed it! It was funny, it had action and a hint of romance.

The film is about a group of child-hood friends, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and co., trying to re-live their youth by completing 'The Golden Mile' in the town they grew up in. Seems pretty simple until they realise the people in the town aren't who they seem to be!

I would really recommend this film. I much preferred it to Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. I would also say it's on par with my liking of Despicable Me 2 and World War Z.

Let me know what you think of the film :)

How NOT to do eyebrows!!

I got a bit bored waiting for my playstation to update and thought I would try experimenting with my makeup. I grabbed a slanted brush and Sleek black eyeshadow and decided to colour in my eyebrows. The result was hilarious! I am as white as white can be, so having thick black eyebrows is shocking!

I do have a picture of what I look like from afar but it's just too embarrassing!

When defining your eyebrows, just a colour that suits your skin tone!

Rebecca and Katherine's London Adventure!

Last week I decided to spend a couple of days with one of my best friends Katherine. She is staying in London at the moment and we had been planning for a couple of years for me to come and stay with her and it finally happened!

We spent the first day wandering around Regents Park, where I think we bumped into Ainsley Harriott, (or at least his look-a-like) in one of the little cafes they have there. We then went back to her flat to have some dinner and have a nice girly evening in watching Easy A and eating some smarties cookies which are amazing! NOM NOM!

For our second day together, Me, Katherine and her boyfriend decided that we would head to London Dungeons for the day. We thought we would be okay until we got there. We would have had queue up for at least 2 hours and it must have been about 27 degrees outside, so we gave that a miss. I would highly recommend anyone thinking of going to the London Dungeons to book in advance, unless you are willing to wait for 2 or more hours in a queue, and it will be cheaper to book in advance. The website does state that even though you have bought tickets online, you may still have to wait about 45 minutes, which isn't as bad as waiting 2 hours but it is still a long time when you have already got the tickets.

As we pondered on what to do next, Katherine saw a sign with a Storm Trooper on it. Of course, anything with a Storm Trooper is brilliant, so we followed the sign and ended up at the London Film Museum. There were some cool things in there like the suit from Superman Returns and the meteor which featured in the same film. We also came across a wide range of photo opportunities including me and Katherine as Batman's babes, and a Storm Trooper with his gun out (oi oi).

His guns were almost as large as his other gun!

Me and Katherine shocked by the bulge!

As you can see, we are very mature adults! So mature that on our way home from the museum, we found a carousel and had to get on it right away! Apparently while Katherine's boyfriend was taking photos, a posh family came up behind him and said, "Some of these people are far to old to be on here." Just because you are jealous! My horse was named Lydia, as most horses have posh, upperclass names.

Once the ride ended we headed towards the station by going across a bridge. Now on this bridge we came across a man that could make picture frames out of wire. I know this doesn't sound very exciting but he could manipulate the wire into your name, or whatever else you wanted written. I bought a couple and will take a picture of them once I have put my own pictures in them. As we walked further down, a man asked if he could borrow my finger. Of course, like an idiot, I obliged as he hooked a piece of string to my extended finger and started to make a bracelet. He made it so quickly I was rather impressed, but unsuprisingly he wanted money for it, even though I hadn't asked for it, and he had already attached it too my wrist. So readers, don't fall for it; It's almost as bad as 'pull my finger'. We were then approached by another man who had a very large snake, (oit! It was an actual snake!). I started to stroke his snake and then he started showing pictures of other people stroking his snake. I finally had the strength to say no as he wanted money to have our picture taken with his snake, and we walked off before anymore buskers could come and take our money.

Finally, we ended the night with a nice take-away as we were too tired to do anything else as travelling around London is so exhausting! We ended up watching The Lion King for the millionth time and had a lovely sleep before heading home the next day.

Me and Katherine seem to encounter strange things when we are together. It's only been a week and I miss her already! I loved our little London adventure! xx

Number 17 neutral palette

have had the Number 17 neutral palette for a while but haven't really used it as I prefer purples and brighter colours. I had a little browse on Youtube at how others apply and mix the neutral tones and came up with this...

I used a black eyeshadow from a Sleek palette I own to create a softer eyeliner. I could have blended it in more to make it smokier but I do like a defined cat eye.

I'm going to have a little look in a MAC store next week and see if I can find some more colours to add to my collection :D. Yaaayy. That is if I can afford it... Awks!

Hair change

I am currently in the middle of changing my hair colour, yet again! I have had it plenty of colours and am now slightly regretting it as my hair feels slightly beaten up.

I tried to start going blonde last december by highlighting my hair every 4-6 weeks but as I have had purple and red hair, it was turning out a bit coppery and all sorts of different blondes, so I decided to go back to brown again.

I had been using the chocolate collections from loreal castings, but haven't really found a colour that suits me, so I am now trying the colour 'blackcurrant'.

Here is a picture of what my hair looked like before...

I think this colour was chocolate brownie. My mum hated it haha. I know my hair is in really bad condition as I have to straighten it a lot due to having thick, frizzy waves. I am also guilty of not using heat protection sprays, oopsies. Ah well... I'm getting it cut on friday, and I will be trying out the new TRESsemme heat damage repair shampoo. I also bought penetrating argan oil yesterday so I'll see how that goes. I will give you an update some time of how my hair turns out and see if the new products I have bought will add some life back into it!

Let me know if you have any products that have worked wonders for your hair!

Talk later guys! X

Shine bright like my forehead!

So i've just finished work and have come home to see a lovely moon shining brightly. Not a very good picture quality but with our normal eyesight it is lovely :).

I decided today that I was going to glam up my eyes too to make me feel better as work is hard and horrible.

And obviously I used frontcover again... May need to buy some more colours :D x

Front cover eyeshadow!

I absolutely love Frontcover eyeshadow! I have said before but I wanted to show you what I do with it.

I used an MUA pro-base eye primer which allows the eyeshadow to stay in place and last longer. It also wasn't that expensive and it works really well.
I then used the lightest colour called Vapour Mist, in the middle of my eyelid and on the brow bone to highlight. I then used a light purple colour called Mystic Heather to add colour to the outer and inner corners of my eyelids.
Next I used Squashed Grape, which is the darker purple, to add depth to the far outer corner and eye socket. This creates a nice blend of colours. I also mixed the dark and light colour under my bottom lash line. (If you use a light eyeshadow on the inner corner of your eye, it instantly brightens them up and enlongates your eyes.)
I then lined my top lashline with my MUA black eyeliner pencil and made a small cat flick. I love this eyeliner as the lid has a sharpener on it so it is very handy when you are out and about. It also stays on pretty much all day and it is inexpensive.

I do like the MUA products as they do work well and they are very cheap. For one eyeshadow colour it is just one pound! But beware... Don't drop them as the powder does break easily.

I finally used my favourite mascara at the minute, maybelline newyork rocket volum' express.

I usually wear this look for going out casually. You can dress them up by adding more eyeliner and deepening the darker purple colour. Or by adding some fake eyelashes (which I struggle with as I wear glasses most of the time). You can also make it look more subtle by just using the lighter purple in the eye socket and outer corner which I sometimes do for work as it's quick and easy.

As I have said time and time again, I love this eyeshadow! Let me know if you want to see any more looks :) x

Monsters Inc University Vs Despicable Me 2

I was soooo excited to see the new Monsters Inc as I loved the first one. The trailer to the movie looked hilarious so I was expecting good things but I was quite disappointed. It was amusing in places and the story line was good but I guess I got so wrapped up in the hype and the excitement of the new film coming out, that I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Also, I watched Despicable Me 2 the other day and I really enjoyed it, so maybe I was comparing Monsters Inc too that.

What's funny is that I did not like the first Despicable Me but I absolutely loved the second one. I think it is because they realised that the minions make the film, so they used them more in the sequel. I was laughing all the way through and now I'm obsessed with the minions! Both me and my boyfriend have got minion ringtones and we got a bit over excited when we realised McDonalds had minion toys in their Happy Meals. Now we are trying to collect them all by pretending we have younger cousins or an imaginary child somewhere just so we can act slightly like adults.

All in all, I much preferred Despicable Me 2 to Monsters Inc University. Most of my friends liked it more than I did but then I do often go against the norm as I have a strange taste in films.

Feel free to leave a comment on what you thought of the film if you have seen it and let me know which one you preffered.

See you later :)

Arrghh

So, I wanted to write about my trip to London at the beginning of the week but after a long and busy night at work, I have realised that I am too sleepy to do it. I will eventually write about the eventful time, as it does include a random man coming up and showing me his snake (ar ar).

I will write as soon as I have uploaded my pictures, and my friend will have uploaded their's too, as we are doing some pretty amazing poses with various characters from various films.

I will soon eventually get into a habit of writing my blog on certain days, or at least every other day. But first I must get my beauty sleep... doubt I'll get that tonight though as I am baby sitting my cousin's hamster and he is a noisy little beggar! Not only have I got him, but I also have my own hamster in my room, so he will be making noise as well. Ah well, I need to be up for work early anyway.

Night all! x

Hard work!

Me and my mum have had a string of bad relationships with window cleaners. They are either unreliable, too expensive or just rubbish! So me and my mother dearest decided to take matters into our own hands.

Our conservatory roof was in need of a good scrubbing, so with a bit of elbow grease, teamwork and our trusty cif acti-fizz we managed to transform our mossy green covered roof, into an (almost) shiny new cleaner one!

You can see the difference! It was such a picture seeing my mum hanging out of the bathroom window with a broom. She tried to soak me a few times too with the watering can!

All I can say is that cif acti-fizz is my new best friend as it cleans so well! Also I may have got a slight sun tan from the hard work! Now time for a well earned tea break! :D

Farcry 3

I have been playing Farcry 3 lately and I love it!! I love a good first person game! It's a mix between the new Lara croft game, (which I also enjoyed immensely) Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption.

I like to explore the maps and do missions as and when I please. I would really recommend this game to people who like the above games as I am thoroughly enjoying it!

My Summer Essentials!

Many girls have a large variety of beauty products, but only use a few items. I am one of those girls.
I have my makeup drawers which have loads of eyeshadows and lip glosses... I rarely even wear lipgloss!

My favourite everyday summer essentials are:

FRONTCOVER COSMETICS. I bought the customised eyeshadow compacts and they are amazing!! I really love shimmery colours. I am a massive fan of smokey eyes too, and these work really well. They last all day even without using an eye primer... which I'm guilty of skipping as I try and do my makeup as fast as possible. My most favourite colours are Mystic Heather, Squashed Grape, Midnight Sparkler, Malva and Vapour Mist. They are a mix of deep purples and blues, and a shimmery whitish silver colour which brightens up the look. Also, the compact has a little mirror in and it has a double ended eyeshadow brush. One of my brushes broke straight away... but nothing a little super glue can't fix!

My next essential is MAYBELLINE THE ROCKET VOLUM' EXPRESS masacara. I LOVE IT!!! It makes my eyelashes look long yet volumised, and it isn't clumpy... unless you overdo it of course with the layering. Oh... and why do we always need to sneeze just after applying?? STUPID FORCES OF NATURE!

Another product I cannot live without now is BATISTE DRY SHAMPOO. I have the cherry one that smells so good! It's great for that in-between hair wash day where you just need a little freshen up, or you really do not have time to wash and blow-dry etc so you just spray this on your roots, massage it in, and then style your hair how you like. It just makes you feel so much better. There are a variety of different smells and a few of the dry shampoos have a hint of colour in them to disguise the regrowth of coloured hair.

My final essential is RIMMEL STAY MATT POWDER. I have been blessed with skin that doesn't need a large amount of products on it to make me look half decent, so this powder suits me nicely as it just dulls down my shiny noggin!

As you can see, I do not use many products and I do use the reasonably priced brands as I hate forking out loads of money for something just because of the name, and most of the time I look like an oompa loompa dressed in drag after applying just a small amount of foundation!

Let me know what you have found amazing this summer! x

World War Z

I saw World War Z a couple of days ago and thought it was absolutely brilliant! It was very thrilling to watch and kept me engaged all the way through. One of the best films I have seen this year and I have seen a lot of films. Some of those include Man of Steel, Iron Man 3 and Fast and Furious 6.
Some of the films I didn't enjoy so much were Promised Land, The Purge and The Allstars.... Just boring boring boring! Sorry to those who liked these films... they just fell flat on their backsides for me. Especially the Promised Lands. A whole film on natural gases underneath farms... I could have smacked my head against a wall.

Just waiting for Finding Dory in 2015! I'm just a big kid at heart!

Decisions Decisions!

So, from a young age we are asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" When you are 15 you have to decide whether you want to continue studying or get a job. If you decide to carry on studying you have to think of what qualifications would help you in your future career. Then at the age of 17/18, you have to decide whether you want to go to university or not. Then you have to commit to 3 to 4 years of studying a degree that will again, help you in your future career. But what if you have no idea what you want to do? There are so many different career paths and job sectors, how do we choose?

I am 20 years old and still do not know what I want to do and it is becoming very frustrating! I have no idea what my interests are so I can't even start from there. Even if I do think of something, most of the time you have to gain qualifications and fork out loads of money on courses and university... what happens if I start the job and don't like it? What a waste of money!

Work takes over at least 80% of your life, so you need to enjoy it! Or at least make it fun. And if you do not like something, then change it! I've had to keep telling myself this all the time. No one can make the decision for you, you have to do it yourself. People can advise you and support you, but you have to make the jump!

I may have to start making a list of things I want to do and see where to go from there. It's time for me to man up and try new things!

I'll let you know how I get on in my adventures! Peace out! x
